These last few weeks were spent doing some outdoorsy things which made it feel more like summer. I was able to go backpacking with two friends last weekend on a short section of the NCT near Gordon WI. I had set some goals for my little adventure including: backpacking with a small environmental footprint, trying out healthier, less expensive, homemade backpacking meals, giving my gasification stove a good trial, and trying to take photos that would translate better into paintings. I feel like I succeeded, plus had fun adventure!

Went day tripping this morning to Two Harbors MN. Looked for agates on Stoney Point, stopped for lunch at Cedar Coffee Company. My daughter and I doodled in the shade while enjoying our Coffees.

Full of caffeine and inspiration, we both went to work when we got back home. I worked on a painting of Palisade Head from photos I took a few weeks back and did some sketches for my next oil painting.
