Late is better than never. I wanted to post about one the funnest events I participated in this summer, The Port Wing Plein Air Fest.
On the south shore of Lake Superior , on a far north shore of Wisconsin,is the tiny town of Port Wing. It has a coastal, fishing town feel. There is one splendid coffee shop, a combination gas station-grocery store-bait shop- liquor store- campground, a quilting shop, a town hall, a small museum, and marina; surrounded by gorgeous forests, wetlands and framed on one side by a sandy shoreline.

It was all about a Toaster..
The highlight of the event was all about a Toaster! My daughter picked up a give-away toaster that was on the road in town. We had walked past it several time when she announced, “I should paint that toaster!” The toaster was still there later so we grabbed it. Saturday morning for the Quick Paint competition, my daughter quietly arranged the coveted toaster on a dock, Everyone just assumed she was painting the boat docked there.
During the exhibition, her little gouache painting was the talk of the show. It brought so many smiles and laughter to the event! She sold it immediately !!

Later we discussed keeping the toaster and handing it off to a different Artist every year…just for fun. Never underestimate a couple of introverts!
Remain well, my friends,
Lynn
