The Piper at Grand Portage

Nearly finished !

I am nearly finished but here is a sneak peak. I cannot think of the Grand Portage Rendezvous without hearing the sound of bagpipes in my mind. The piper, Jeremy has become integral to the whole experience and deserved a painting in this series. 8 x 10 Oil on linen panel.

I was trying to incorporate the Golden Ratio when placing Jeremy into the composition.
I wanted to convey space and sound
Another few hours and it should be complete….then I stare at it a few weeks and make adjustments!
